"Gilmore
Girls" Melissa McCarthy Weds in Historic LA Penthouse
October 2005--After
an eight-year courtship, actress Melissa McCarthy (chef Sookie
St. James to fans of The WB's "Gilmore Girls") pledged
her love to fellow actor Ben Falcone, better known as Howard
to viewers of the NBC "Friends" spinoff, "Joey."
The October 8, 2005 ceremony was held at the Oviatt Penthouse
in Los Angeles.
Referred to in its
day as "a castle in the air," the Oviatt Penthouse
is an Art Deco masterpiece which once played host to the glitterati
of Hollywood's Golden Era, such as Errol Flynn and Howard Hughes.
Today couples can captured a bit of Tinseltown magic with nuptials
conducted either on the rooftop or in the parlor, which is decorated
with Lalique chandeliers.
