Dutch
Prince Weds
October 2005--For
the second time this year members of the Dutch royal family
gathered together for a wedding as Prince Floris van Vollenhoven,
10th in succession to the Dutch throne, pledged his love to
Aimee Sohngen in the town of Naarden. As with his elder brother
Prince Pieter-Christiaan, who married in August 2005, the royal
relinquished any chance of reigning over his homeland with his
refusal to request permission from parliament to wed the woman
he loves.
Honoring her country's
official color, the bride donned an orange sherbet, knee-length
dress paired with a short jacket and a Jackie Kennedy-esque
pill box hat for the October 20, 2005 civil ceremony. An elaborate
church wedding
will be held on October 22, 2005.
