Singer Billy Joe Shaver Weds in Texas

September 2005--Songs of heartbreak are a staple of country music, and in 2005 singer/songwriter Billy Joe Shaver penned "There's No Fool Like An Old Fool" to chronicle a sad chapter in his own love life in when his fiancee, whom he was to wed in April 2005, abandoned him for another man.

Time has a way of healing all wounds, however, and the songsmith, who has written melodies recorded by Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash, is now singing a different tune as the new husband to Wanda Lynn Canady. On September 26, 2005 she became Billy Joe's wife during a private ceremony in Corsicana, Texas, which was presided over by a relative of the singer.
