July 2005--Gay and lesbian couples now have another option for destination weddings around the world: Spain. Spain has now legalized same sex marriages, joining Belgium and the Netherlands as the third country in the world to offer same sex weddings. Same sex weddings are set to become legal throughout Canada although some provinces (including Niagara Falls' Ontario) already offer same sex weddings. Later this year, same sex weddings will become legal in England, although England has traditionally been a difficult location for destination weddings for foreigners due to residency requirements.
