5082008: Couples Resorts Offer "Secret Rendezvous" Deal

Do the two of you ever spend so much time planning for a trip you feel everything is just a little too predictable when you get there? We've just received a package that might be the answer if you're looking for a little surprise on your next romantic getaway. Jamaica's Couples Resorts is offering a “secret rendezvous” travel deal.

How It Works: You'll book your days of travel as usual but you you won't find out which of the four Couples resorts on the island you'll be staying at until a week before your departure. (Don't worry: the same international airport is used by all the resorts.) It offers a great discount and adds a little adventure and excitement to your trip as well.

Price: The rates for this package are $390 per room/per night (or $195 per person) from June 1 – 30, 2008. A three night minimum stay is required. The lowest published rack rate for the time period is $606 per room/per night so you'll be saving 35 percent.

The Resorts: The four properties are:

4282008: Compass Point Offers Fourth Night Free

Summer season--which extends into December in the Caribbean and Bahamas--is a great bargain for couples. 3162008: St. Lucia Jazz Lineup Announced

St. Lucia Jazz, one of the Caribbean's most popular jazz festivals, has announced that Grammy winner Michael Bolton and soft rock duo Air Supply have joined the line-up for the 2008 edition of St. Lucia Jazz. The festival, now in its 17th year, is scheduled for May 2 - 11, 2008. Demand for rooms and airlift is high during this very popular event so couples interested in a St. Lucia vacation for that time period should be sure to plan ahead.

Other performers during the final weekend of concerts include Angie Stone, Anita Baker, Dianne Reeves, Dionne Warwick, Jonathan Butler, Najee and Wyclef Jean. Other acts carded for the festival include the Juilliard Quintet, featuring saxophonist Ron Blake, trumpeter Eddie Henderson, drummer Carl Allen and bassist Ben Wolfe. Also performing at St. Lucia Jazz will be saxophonist Jacques Schwartz-Bart; keyboardist Alex Bugnon, guitarist Nick Colionne and neo-soul singer Ledisi; along with top local and Caribbean performers.

"This year we're continuing to improve the quality of the event," said Senator Allen Chastanet, St. Lucia's Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, who added major infrastructural improvements were being planned, including showcasing St. Lucia's premium restaurants on Pigeon Island. "Our aim is to re-establish St. Lucia as hosts of the premier jazz festival in the Caribbean. Having great artists is not enough if we don't bolster the experience."

Since its establishment in 1992, St. Lucia Jazz has showcased R&B legends Smokey Robinson, Gladys Knight, Carlos Santana, Patti Labelle and jazz greats Wynton Marsalis, Branford Marsalis, Herbie Hancock, Stanley Jordan, Roy Hargrove and George Benson.

St. Lucia's 10-day jazz celebration focuses on the straight jazz category as well as acoustic, new age, jazz, soul, fusion, R&B and Hip Hop held in a variety of locations and venues around the island, including Jazz on the Square in Castries and Fond d'Or Jazz in Dennery.

02122008: Caneel Bay Celebrates Sports Illustrated Cover with Package

He might like what he sees on the cover of Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue featuring Marisa Miller but you'll definitely love the place where the photo was shot: Caneel Bay, A Rosewood Resort on St. John in the US Virgin Islands.

11262007: New Year's Eve Party Barbados Style

With December right around the corner, it's time to get serious about those New Year's Eve party plans. Here's a unique package we just received: celebrate the new year with a Roaring Twenties party in Barbados!

Mango Bay's themed New Year's celebration will feature a Santa Claus stilt walker, a buffet dinner, live music from the local band Nexcyx, props such as men's Twenties-style hats and feathers and boas for the women, as well as other party amenities. While you don't have to dress up in Roaring Twenties costumes, you can still enjoy the New Year's Eve celebration as part of your escape to Mango Bay in Barbados at no extra cost.

Rates: All-inclusive rates from Dec. 15, 2007 through Jan. 3, 2008 start at $535 per night in a standard room and are based on double occupancy.
