How the Two of You Can Visit National Parks for Free!

If the two of you love hiking, camping, and outdoor fun, 2015 can mean multiple chances to visit the national parks…for free!

Across the US, 133 of the 401 national parks charge an entrance fee–but this is waived during special days. (While the admission fee is waived, the camping fee is not.)

Free Days in 2015

In 2015, these days will offer free admission at all national parks:

  • January 19: Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • February 14-16: Presidents Day weekend
  • April 18-19: opening weekend of National Park Week
  • August 25: National Park Service Birthday
  • September 26: National Public Lands Day
  • November 11: Veterans Day

If the two of you love traveling to the parks, consider an $80 annual pass that provides entrance to all national parks, national wildlife refuges, national forests, and many other Federal lands-more than 2,000 in all. Or, if you’re active duty military, the America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass is offered free!
