Traveling twosomes who plan to go to Graceland in 2013 are invited to embrace The King’s fondness for the 50th state with a visit to the recently unveiled exhibit Elvis’ Hawaii: Concerts, Movies and More!
Showcased in celebration of Aloha from Hawaii‘s 40th anniversary, fans can take a trip back in time as they see the islands through Elvis’s eyes thanks to never-before-seen footage of the icon’s excursion by boat in 1957 as well as color clips of the first time the legend stepped on stage in Hawaii.
The star’s sense of style is a running thread through the exhibit, and fans of fashion will enjoy a golden opportunity to check out the multi-platinum-selling artist’s famed gold lamé suit which he donned for his 1957 Hawaiian concert and the jumpsuits which sparkled in the stage lights during his concert appearances in the early 1970s, while film fans can mull over the movie memorabilia from Blue Hawaii and Paradise, Hawaiian-Style, including a tiki mug used to promote Elvis’s first Hawaiian-themed flick.
Tourists in Memphis can enjoy a virtual vacation to The Aloha State at Graceland for the next two years.
