A double feature starring fashions from classic films is currently reeling in romantics with a shared passion for cinema.
Through September 11th film fans will flock to the Ginger Francis Seminar Room and Gateway Gallery inside the El Paso Museum of Art to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Paramount Pictures with a look at creations fashioned by the queen of silver screen style. Designing Woman: Edith Head at Paramount features more than 35 pieces of couture clothing which once clad such stars as Ginger Rogers, Audrey Hepburn. Veronica Lake, Barbara Stanwyck, Carole Lombard, Jane Russell and Hedy Lamarr. Adding the perfect accent to the dress display are photos, private papers and original sketches which help to stitch together the life and times of the fashion icon.
For a glimpse at the baubles that made Tinseltown glitter during the golden age of movies, check out the museum’s exhibit Reel Glamour: Screen Jewelry From the Paramount Archive, which showcases more than 100 sparklers which shared the big screen with yesterday’s brightest stars.
