World’s Largest Classic Film Festival Comes to El Paso

A walk down the aisle of a historic El Paso movie theater will be a journey through Hollywood history for cinema-loving soul mates this August as they  celebrate a golden opportunity to see silver screen treasures and listen to the memories of movie giants at the 5th annual Plaza Classic Film Festival.

A showcase for star-filled films from 1930 through the late 1970’s, the Plaza Theatre– which today is a center for the performing arts– will relive its past as a grand movie palace during 10 days devoted to the iconic images that flicker in the dark. Film fans can indulge in the all the retro romance of yesterday’s movie magic as they snuggle in their seats and watch classic creations. From action and adventure to sci-fi and silent motion pictures, the festival will have something to please every cinephile, including those with a passion for such landmark love stories as:

Belle de Jour
Breakfast at Tiffany’s
Love Before Breakfast

During the world’s largest classic film festival cinema aficionados will also be offered glimpses of the glamor of Hollywood in its heyday with the reminiscences of Tippi Hedren, who will introduce the two Hitchcock classics The Birds and Marnie; Oscar winner Eva Marie Saint, who will offer insight into life on the set of Elia Kazan’s On the Waterfront; Academy Award-nominated actress Mary Badham, who will tell what it was like to step into the shoes of Scout at a showing of To Kill a Mockingbird; and movie icon Al Pacino will recall moments from his career during Al Pacino: One Night Only.
