Weezer Cruise Launches in January

Rock ‘n’ roll romantics can chart a course for an “Island in the Sun” as a Grammy Award-winning group that rules the alt rock airwaves set sail on ocean waves to the island of Cozumel off the coast of Mexico.

The Weezer Cruise begins with the band’s pool deck performance, which will provide the soundtrack as the Carnival Destiny pulls out from Miami on January 19, 2012 for a four night “Holiday” happening.

Along with discovering details about the band in a Weezer Q&A on the Lido deck, a chance to pose for pix with the performers and a second Weezer concert in the luxury liner’s main indoor Palladium theater and passengers can party to tunes from the following 15 bands, performing on four stages:

J. Mascis (solo acoustic)
Lou Barlow
The Nervous Wreckords
The Knocks

Yacht Rock Revue

Music lovers can also enjoy such shipboard features as a full-service casino, spa services, a waterslide, pools, hot tubs and much more.

Prices start at $799 per person for double cabins, or four people can sail together for just $599 per person. Pre-sale tickets for the Sixthman event go on sale July 19, 2011, while the general public can book cabins beginning August 3rd.
