We can’t wait for the new Julia Roberts movie, “Eat, Pray, Love,” and we have great memories of our stay years ago at the incredibly romantic Peter Island Resort & Spa…so when a package combining both crossed our in box we had to pass it along! Julie Roberts would undoubtedly agree that a trip to Peter Island, a private island wonderland in the British Virgin Islands, is the place to create your own story, a place were finding balance comes naturally, where inspiration and boundless beauty frame the resort; white, sandy beaches, palm groves, rolling mountains and 1,800 acres of undeveloped Caribbean tropics.
The Package: Eat Pray Love speaks to issues about relationships, marriage, dealing with self, appetite for life, and finding oneself in three genres; food, spirituality and balance. With these core elements in mind, Peter Island Resort & Spa is launching a new package dedicated to discovery:
Italy – discovering food that tantalizes the palate while letting go of the guilt associated with eating. Peter Island will be offering a decadent 5-course wine tasting dinner in the opulent Wine Room at Peter Island – ladies need not worry as this is a one night affair, not a month long event. Daily gourmet picnics on White Bay Beach and a private dining on the beach (guest choice of evening) also included.
Mumbai – in search of the spiritual, Peter Island offers private yoga sessions on the beach, a meditation 101 session, and a consultation with one of the onsite Ayurvedic doctors to reveal the guest’s Dosha – a person’s mind/body type in Ayurvedic medicine, a fingerprint if you will, as there are three doshas: Vata, Pitta, Kapha.
Bali – find balance again as Peter Island provides a 30-minute Reiki session and a two-hour Ayurvedic Rejuvenation treatment to include: an Ayurvedic herbal wrap, followed by a medicated warm oil massage with hot poultice bundles, finishing with a warm stream of oil on the forehead (Shirodara).
Price: The package starts at $3,964.00 for a five-night getaway for two in an Oceanfront Room, all of the above, breakfast lunch and dinner, afternoon tea, use of the island’s non-motorized sports program, and access to five beaches, spa, spa gardens, walking/biking trails, snorkeling in the sea and hopefully many “ah-ha” moments.
How to Get There: Peter Island, a posh private island in the British Virgin Islands is easily accessible a direct flight to Puerto Rico, a 45-minute hop to Tortola and a 20-minute boat charter to the resort. An Island Host, Peter Island’s version of a butler, will be on deck to great you and jumpstart this fabulous week-long journey.
