We just received word that the former Sandals Dunn’s River Resort, located in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, will soon be The Jewel. The resort will be managed by Dallas-based Aimbridge Hospitality and right now it’s undergoing an extensive makeover, which will include new room products as well as new technology and flat screen TV’s. The Jewel is expected to reopen in fall 2010.
The resort will feature four themed a la carte restaurants, a nine-hole “pitch and putt” golf course, 20 acres of lush gardens and the hotel’s Diamond Club Service, which will feature private butler service and 24-hour concierge services. A pool concierge service will also be added, and the spa, gym and all of the restaurants and bars will be reinvented and rebranded.
