6242008: Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort Launches Fertile Turtle Package

Looking to add to your family on your next vacation? Florida's Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort is reintroducing the Fertile Turtle package (which was extremely popular in 2007) to entice couples to conceive while on vacation.

According to the Caribbean Conservation Corporation & Sea Turtle Survival League, sea turtles are known as a symbol of fertility--so with this package lovebirds have the opportunity to watch sea turtles eggs hatch on the resort’s own three-mile stretch of beach--all while trying to fertilize an egg of their own.

As protecting the natural environment of the local endangered species is important to the resort, a portion of the package proceeds will benefit the Sea Turtle Monitoring & Protection Project of the Conservancy for Southwest Florida.

The Package: The Fertile Turtle Package includes:
  • Deluxe accommodations in a Gulf-view guestroom with king-size bed, private balcony and a do not disturb sign
  • Red clover and raspberry tea, which have natural pregnancy-enhancing qualities
  • Couples massage with Chaste berry and fertility-promoting aromatherapy
  • Authentic Balinese commemorative photo album to capture the memories of this special vacation
Dates: This package is only available during sea turtle mating season, now through October 31.

Price: The Fertile Turtle Package starts at $419 per couple, per night

Special Bonus: As a special gift for couples who conceive during their stay, the resort will provide a complimentary three-night stay for a return visit. Proud parents only need to provide a birth certificate and proof of recent hotel stay, within eight to 10 months of baby’s arrival.

Making It Cozy: Committed to conserving the natural habitat of the Marco Island sea turtles, Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort takes every precaution to protect this endangered and vulnerable species. To ensure their safety on property, the hotel has all exterior bulbs fitted with special yellow covers to reduce the amount of light emitted and guests are asked to close their privacy drapes at night as light on the beach can disorient turtle hatchlings. These safety measures also create perfect mood lighting for canoodling couples.

6192008: The Parker Meridien Palm Springs Offers Package Based on "The Bachelorette"

Although reality TV contestant DeAnna Pappas may not have won the heart of Brad Womack during the 11th season of The Bachelor, the Newnan, Georgia real estate agent is once again on a quest for the best man around as the current season of The Bachelorette airs on ABC. Squired by 25 hopefuls at the start of the series, the competition had dwindled down to six suitors vying to be the lucky lady's soul mate by the time production commenced on an episode filmed at The Parker Meridien Palm Springs. As cameras rolled, the bachelorette moved in to one of the venue's 12 villas, while her band of ardent admirers unpacked their luggage in the Gene Autry House.

While only time will tell which romantic male will receive the coveted final rose, from now through September 16, 2008 couples who have already found their perfect match can enjoy a special "Bachelorette"- inspired package at the luxury retreat.

During an overnight stay in one of the villas, couples can take a dip in one of the California retreat's two outdoor or two indoor pools, play croquet on the manicured lawn or a game of tennis on one of the clay courts. A romantic breakfast for two on the villa's private patio is included with the package.
