02122008: Caneel Bay Celebrates Sports Illustrated Cover with Package

He might like what he sees on the cover of Sports Illustrated‘s Swimsuit Issue featuring Marisa Miller but you’ll definitely love the place where the photo was shot: Caneel Bay, A Rosewood Resort on St. John in the US Virgin Islands.

The cover was shot by fashion photographer Raphael Mazzucco on a 12-day shoot this past October with bathing beauties Miller, Oluchi Onweagba and Melissa Baker. When not frolicking photogenically on the sands, the troupe retreated to Cottage #7 – the original quarters of founder Laurence Rockefeller and still the resort’s most requested accommodation. The quartet doubtless felt right at home within the exquisite surroundings of Caneel Bay.

Mazzucco, a Swimsuit Issue veteran, shot the cover of the 2006 edition featuring the famous “reunion” swimsuit models past, including Elle Macpherson, Rebecca Romijin, Rachel Hunter, Veronica Verekova and more. Marisa Miller, meanwhile, has appeared in every SI Swimsuit Issue since 2002, and was only photographed at Caneel Bay this time around. The 2008 issue is the fourth for Onweagba and the first for Baker.
