Reggae Sunsplash Coming to Jamaica
It's just a short time until Reggae Sunsplash Festival, scheduled for August 3-6, 2006. This year the event will take place at Richmond Estate, St. Ann, Jamaica. Couples Resorts Receive Top Ranking
We just received word that Travel + Leisure readers have rated Couples Swept Away and Couples Sans Souci the highest ranked all-inclusives in the Caribbean and among the Top 25 in the region overall. The resorts were the only all-inclusives included in Travel + Leisure’s Top 25 Hotels in the Caribbean, Bermuda and the Bahamas.
Couples Swept Away, with a ranking of 83.79, was the number one ranked resort in Jamaica. Couples Sans Souci earned a rating of 81.21, making the two resorts the only all-inclusives to be included in the Top 25 list. Atlantic City Open for Travelers
You've probably heard the news about Atlantic City's casinos closing their doors for the time being due to New Jersey budget impasse. We received word today, though, that Atlantic City is open and welcoming travelers:
The casino floors may be off limits during the New Jersey State budget shut-down, but the rest of Atlantic City is Always Turned On and ready to entertain you in style.
The beach is beautiful, the lifeguards are on duty and the beach bars have a full complement of your favorite beverages and munchies – all the things that made summer at the Jersey Shore famous. In addition, there are a myriad of entertainment, shopping and dining options available.
“We have everything a great destination can offer,” said Jeffrey Vasser, executive director of the Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority. “The only thing affected by the shutdown of state operations is the gambling. Everything else is fully operational.”
While the casinos remain dark, the hotels, restaurants, showrooms, spas and shops connected to them remain open. Atlantic City offers a variety of retail/dining/ entertainment districts, including the new The Pier at Caesars, which opened the end of June, The Quarter at Tropicana and Atlantic City Outlets-The Walk.
