Boyhood National Memorial, Indiana
The boyhood of Abraham
Lincoln is always fascinating to children. They can learn more
about his childhood years in the farm town at this site. Lincolns
mother died when he was nine and is buried here at the farm. Are We There Yet? The park is located
two miles east of Gentryville in the far southern reaches of the
state. To reach Gentryville from I-64, take exit 57 for US 231.
Continue south through Dale on US 231 to Gentryville, where youll
head east on Indiana Highway 162 for two miles. Whats There

visitor sites at this park:
When Are We Going? Summer is the busiest
time at this park. How Long Are We
Staying? The National Park
Service recommends about a two hour visit at this site. What Should I Bring? Good walking shoes
are helpful if youll be taking the trail; some insect repellent
might be good as well. You wont find
any lodging or camping in the park, but overnight accommodations
are available in the communities of Dale, Tel. 812/937-4445, and
Santa Claus, Tel. 812/937-2848. Lincoln State Park, adjacent,
offers campground facilities, Tel. 812/937-4541. Practical Information
