Beach Wedding in the US

We would like to plan a destination wedding for this April, a barefoot wedding on the beach. Price isn't a huge concern but we would like a US wedding. What would you recommend?

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Let’s see...looking at all the US, we’d say one of our top choices would be the US Virgin Islands. You’d have the ease of US travel (no passport, no language barrier, marriage regulations just like marrying in any state) but with all the exotic allure of an island destination.

Of the three US Virgin Islands, we’d pick St. John as our wedding choice because of its tropical beauty, many wedding options (lots of on-island wedding planners who set up barefoot beach weddings on all scales as well as a few resorts that can arrange beach weddings), and quiet setting. The island is also filled with villas if your family members would like to share a villa during their stay.

In the mainland US, we’d opt for a southern location due to weather concerns; April can mean some cool beach days in some locations. In early April, we’d keep spring break in mind and skip those destinations. The Keys would be a beautiful setting for a beach wedding. If money’s not a big concern, private island resorts like Little Palm Island in the Keys would be a spectacular setting but less expensive options are available in Key West and other Keys.

Best wishes! Paris and John
