We want to get married in Jamaica next year. When's the best time of the year to visit?

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Jamaica, like the rest of the Caribbean (except for the far southern islands of Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao), is in hurricane season from June 1 through November 30. Within that time, the worst months for storms are August and September. (A time when you'll also find the cheapest rates.)

The best time to visit Jamaica is in the winter (when, predictably, you'll also find the highest rates.) Rates rise on December 15 and remain high until April 15 at most resorts. The winter months are wonderful on the island, with hot days perfect for swimming and sultry nights that are warm enough for dining outdoors (although occasionally you'll want a very light wrap).
