My Fiance Wants Me to Dive with Him! My fiance loves to dive and wants me to dive with him when we honeymoon on Grand Cayman. I don't have time to get certified before we go; what should I do? Congratulations
on your upcoming honeymoon! Grand Cayman is a great place
for divers...what a great place for you to get an introduction
to the world of diving (and to the world of marriage!)
Check with your honeymoon resort to see if they offer a "resort course." These courses consist of a morning classroom session with some pool time in your scuba gear, followed by an afternoon (shallow) open water dive. You won't come away with it with any kind of certification but it will give you an idea if you'll like the sport and give the two of you the chance to talk as fellow divers! Also, most scuba boats will let snorkelers go out with the group; while your new hubby is diving, you can get a get a look at what's below by enjoying a relaxing snorkel. Of course, the two of you don't have to do everything together. While he's out diving, you can take the time to have some spa treatments or to enjoy the great duty free shopping in George Town, Grand Cayman. He'll come back with tales from the deep and you'll come back with some honeymoon souvenirs!
