Can We Renew Our Vows on a Cruise?

My wife and I want to renew our vows and I was wondering what this would cost for just the two of us on board or on an island? We are going on a western Caribbean cruise on Nov.21 thru Nov.27. Is it to late for us to make a reservation? Please let me know asap!

What a romantic idea! It shouldn’t be too late at all for you to make arrangements since a vow renewal really doesn’t involve any legalities.

Your best bet would be to talk directly with your cruise line; they each have a department that handles weddings as well as vow renewals. Many offer ceremonies in port before you depart; others have facilities on board for ceremonies. Some couples opt for on island ceremonies; many hotels offer day packages so you’ll have a changing room on property and use of a wedding venue on the hotel grounds.

The cruise ship should be able to assist with all the details or to point you to a wedding planner on island who can help with hotel packages.

Be sure to ask if you need to bring along your original marriage license to prove that you are married to each other; this is a requirement some places.

Best wishes! Paris and John
