Where to Take a Belated Honeymoon in New Mexico, Colorado or Wyoming

My husband and I have been married 15 years. Due to my job we never had a honeymoon at all, I went to work at 7am the next morning. Where in the New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming areas would you suggest for a belated honeymoon?

Congratulations on your 15 years of marriage! You're in luck because you're located in a very scenic region with many romantic getaways within driving distance. Here are just a few ideas:

New Mexico: Check out Santa Fe, an easy getaway from Colorado. Nicknamed "the city different," this community really is different and a good way to feel you've really taken a trip of some distance...but without the long drive! From red chile ristas adorning adobe structures to ceremonial dancing at ancient pueblos, this city has a unique atmosphere. A few romantic resorts include La Posada de Santa Fe Resort and Spa and Inn of the Anasazi

Colorado: With its beautiful scenery, Colorado makes an easy romantic choice. A growing number of elegant dude and guest ranches now appeal to couples with extras like hot tubs, spa treatments, and gourmet meals. Check out RanchWeb.com; the site has all kinds of guest ranches including many with special appeal to romantics. Properties like Wit's End Guest Ranch, Resort and Spa in the Durango area are known for their upscale atmosphere that encourages couples to reconnect, surrounded by nature and pampering visitors with special features.

Wyoming: You can't think of Wyoming without thinking about Yellowstone National Park. If you can visit anytime except the summer months, you'll find the park's crowds far more manageable (and almost non-existent during the winter months). Miles of hiking trails encourage couples to take long walks hand in hand; Old Faithful serves as a romantic centerpiece of the park. Our first choice of a romantic accommodation would be Old Faithful Inn, a classic lodge that's over a century old.
