Suggestions for a Surfing Beach
Hello, saw your website and we were wondering if you had any ideas on great beaches - my husband and son love to body surf - we were thinking of going to los cabos but have heard you can't really get in the ocean because of undertow and rocks - we have been to Cancun 5 times and don't want to go there - any suggestions? We're not surfers but we've heard good things about Rincon, Puerto Rico; Aruba (good for surfing and windsurfing pretty much year around); and Boston Bay, Jamaica (near Port Antonio on the east end of the island...it's pretty remote for travelers from Ocho Rios, Montego Bay or Negril). Aruba's very family-friendly and has a wide variety of difficulty levels with the most challenging waters on the Atlantic side on the calmer seas on the Caribbean side.
Happy travels!! Paris and John

Surf seems to be good in many locations. Depends on where you really want to go and much you are willing to spend. I would check on surf reports at www.Surfline.com and there you should get an idea of what type of surf fits your skill level.
There are some great ways to save $$$ too if you rent a beachhouse by owner. I stayed in a beachhouse in Spain and it was awesome. Had the whole house to myself and when I woke up after a refreshing night of sleep (hearing the waves just outside the double french doors) I could go out one side of my room to my private pool or the other side which opened to the beach. I could see the island Ibiza just off the beach.
I suggest some of these websites that you can find beachhouses by owners:
www.VRBO.com
www.BHRBO.com
www.Beachhouse.com
There are many others, so enjoy your trip and hope this one tops all of the trips you have ever taken!
Rincon is great for surfing. There's a nice surfing community down here, as well as surf schools. Check out:
www.surf787.com (surf school and B&B)
www.villaorleanspr.com
Check out http://www.wheresthebeachdude.com for lists of beaches with GPS coordinates.
