Question on Panama Canal

Hi,
How far is the airport from the Panama Canal?
Since you have experience, I was hoping you could give me some clues as to what you look out for. Please point me in the right direction. I really appreciate your help.
The airport is on the outskirts of Panama City and the Panama Canal meets the Pacific in Panama City. If you’ve visiting on land (rather than taking a cruise), you have to visit at a visitors’ center (you can’t visit the canal just anywhere along the canal). In Panama City, you can visit the Miraflores Visitors Center:

It has some observation decks so you can see the canal after you look at the exhibits.
