Who: Actor Russell Crowe and actress-singer Danielle Spencer

When: April 7, 2003

Where: Crowe's ranch at Coffs Harbor in the state of New South Wales, Australia, 310 miles north of Sydney

The Event: The sunset star-studded event began in true Hollywood style with the groomsmen arriving by motorcycles (each groomsmen's gifts from Crowe.) The vows took place in a chapel Crowe designed and had specially built on his ranch, one filled with many of the world's religious symbols. The event also included an Aboriginal fertility blessing by a local shaman.

The Dress: The bride wore an Armani gown beaded with 10,000 clear Swarovski crystals, the result of several fittings in Milan. The groom wore an Armani long jacket. The ushers wore jackets with the Spencer crest and Crowe's waistcoast was embroidered with crests of both families.

The Reception: The groom serenaded his bride with several songs before performances by the Australian Chamber Orchestra, the groom's band, 30 Odd Foot of Grunts, and an ABBA cover band.

Special Moments: The wedding was part of a three-day weekend wedding that brought both families together for a Crowes vs. Spencers cricket match as well as a bachelorette party.

Add some starlit touches of your own...

If you liked Russell Crowe and Danielle Spencer's nuptials, consider how you can add some stellar touches to your own ceremony. For example:

• consider a weekend wedding with some fun activities to unite your families.

• do any of your relatives live in a rural setting where you could enjoy an outdoor wedding or a pre-wedding get-together?

• consider a his vs. hers game of your own like the Crowe vs. Spencer cricket game. You can opt for softball, flag football, basketball, or even ping pong...the main thing is to get everyone playing together!

• think about incorporating symbols special to your family in your wedding. Even if you don't have family crests, an old family medal or ribbon can make the perfect "something old"!
