Who:
Diva Celine Dion and her manager and husband, Rene Angelil
When:
January 2000
Where:
Caesar's Palace Casino and Hotel, Las Vegas
The
Event: Celine and Rene were married in 1994 in a Montreal
ceremony but wished to renew their vows in front of friends
and family. The couple transformed the hotel's chapel to look
like an Arabian mosque, marking the importance of Rene's Lebanese
and Syrian roots.
The
Dress:The bride wore golden dress by Givenchy.
The Reception: After the ceremony, the guests
went to the hotel's ballroom, which had also taken on an Arabian
theme. Berber tents were erected in the room and each was designed
to represent a scene from A Thousand and One Nights. The
theme continued with camels and imported birds as well as jugglers,
dancers, and singers. The food also maintained the exotic theme
with Moroccan and Middle Eastern dishes served to guests who
were seated on plush cushions.
Add
some starlit touches of your own...
If
you liked Celine Dion and Rene Angelil's vow renewal,
consider how you can add some stellar touches to your
own ceremony. For example:
spotlight your heritage through dance, song, or food
at your reception
remember that a vow renewal is always an option, whether
you've been married for 25 years or 25 days. Some couples
opt for vow renewals in an exotic location where a wedding
might be difficult due to marriage regulations; others
choose a vow renewal to share their love with family
and friends. Many couples opt for a special time in
their lives to renew their commitment to each other
with the ceremony.
