Rose Hall Great
House
Montego Bay, Jamaica

Located
east of Montego Bay, Rose Hall Great House is Jamaica's most famous
great house, known for its legend of the White Witch, Annie Palmer.
Although the story has various versions, legend has it that Annie
Palmer was the daughter of a British couple living in Haiti. While
on the island, the parents died, leaving Annie in the care of
her Haitian nanny, who taught her voodoo skills. Eventually Annie
came to Jamaica and wed planter John Palmer, owner of Rose Hall.
John Palmer met a mysterious death, followed by two later husbands.
Today the house can be used for destination weddings and receptions...but
no one spends the night!
