Getting
Married in Venice
Rebekah Serin Antoniucci, Manager of Regency San Marino
Venice,
Italy
Venice has long been known as one of the world's most romantic cities--the
perfect spot for a destination wedding. Recently we talked with Rebekah
Serin Antoniucci, manager of Regency San Marino, about planning the Venetian
wedding of your dreams.
Can you tell
us a little about your background?
I have been working with
the company for several years now arranging weddings for foreigners
in Italy. I am American and live in Italy and have coordinated hundreds
of weddings for foreigners in Venice over the years, plus I arranged
my own wedding in Tuscany a few years ago.
Over the years, I've acquired a great deal of knowledge of the Italian
culture and appreciation for its art, beauty, and the warmth of the
Italian people...and let's not forget the food!
Venice represents some of the best that Italy has to offer and the reason
why it attracts so many couples to have their romantic wedding here.
Venice
has long been a favorite for honeymooners but what aspects of the city
make it a good destination for weddings as well?
Venice is an ideal location
for all types of weddings:
A private, intimate wedding for two on a gondola with the Rialto Bridge
as the backdrop is more romantic than anyone could ever dream of.
A
grand wedding ceremony and dinner by candlelight in a beautiful, private
palace decorated with antique paintings and furnishings along the famous
Grand Canal, with guests dressed in Venetian costumes and their famous
masks from Carnevale creates the most magical atmosphere a couple could
only imagine.
A small ceremony and reception for just your closest family and friends
in the beautiful garden of a private villa situated on an island right
across from St. Mark's Square, with breathtaking views of the Venetian
waters lined with gondolas and motorboats creates a unique setting one
could only experience while attending a wedding in Venice.
What types of venues are available for weddings in Venice?
-Prestigious, antique palaces
with valuable, ornate furnishings and paintings by some of the best
Italian painters, such as Tiepolo, exclusively available only to our
company.
-Private art museums with halls filled with important works of art
-Famous Catholic churches and even the magnificent crypt of St. Mark's.
-The town hall located on the Grand Canal with a balcony overlooking
the Rialto Bridge.
-Our
special wedding gondola traveling along the most characteristic Venetian
canals and underneath Venice's beautiful bridges.
