Couples in search of a five
star all-inclusive have an alluring choice among Iberostar's offerings
on the Riviera Maya: Iberostar Paraiso Lindo. The resort lies adjacent
to three sister properties. Located nine miles from Playa del Carmen,
the addition to the Iberostar's Mexico properties offers luxury in an
all-inclusive package.
Who’s There?
Couples, singles, and families are welcome at this property (which is
also especially popular with groups thanks to an extensive convention
center. Don't worry about suits and ties running through the lobby, though;
the convention center is a separate facility and doesn't interfere with
the relaxed atmosphere of the resort.) Couples with a short three- or
four-night stay will find the resort convenient for Cancun air connections,
just 24 miles away.
Traveling with kids but want to get in some romantic time as well? Lucy's
Miniclub, a supervised kids' club, makes the resort popular with families
with children ages 4-12. The club includes a variety of activities as
well as a dedicated children's pool. A wave pool, the first on the Riviera
Maya, also makes the resort tops with families.
 To
maintain an exclusive feel to the resort, guests at Iberostar Paraiso
Lindo have full use of the facilities, from shows to pools to restaurants,
at the neighboring Iberostar resorts (as well as Iberostar properties
near Tulum and on Cozumel); however, guests at Iberostar Paraiso del Mar
and Iberostar Paraiso Beach do not have use of the Paraiso Lindo facilities.
The resort was recently joined by another upscale all-inclusive, the all-suites
Iberostar Paraiso Maya, located adjacent to Paraiso Lindo.
Accommodations
The 446-room all-inclusive resort includes two presidential suites and
62 junior suites, many with whirlpool tubs on private balconies. All rooms
are located in three-story, bungalow-style buildings in warm tropical
colors.
Each guest room includes a terrace, minibar, marble bathroom with hairdryer,
satellite TV, coffee maker, and direct-dial telephone. Rooms are oversized
and spacious, with tile floors, ceiling fans, and a décor in muted
tropical tones.
Public Areas
Expansive public areas are joined by walkways lined with fountains, the
hallmark of the Iberostar's Caribbean resorts. The property remains uncrowded
even during peak weeks thanks to large lobbies and extensive restaurant,
bar, and swimming facilities. Each room block is also home to its own
courtyard.
The resort includes five adult swimming pools, a dedicated children's
pool, and a popular wave pool. Nearby, the large Playa de Paraiso or Paradise
Beach is used by the resort and its sister properties; numerous palapas
(including massage palapas) and beach bars keep guests happy.
All pool and beach facilities, along with aerobic classes, basketball,
table tennis, lighted tennis courts, volleyball, windsurfing, Hobie Cat
sailing and kayaks are included in the all-inclusive package. Guests may
also opt for motorized watersports at an additional charge; the PADI Dressel
Scuba Dive Center is also available for guests
In the evening, Iberostar Paraiso Lindo offers a nightly show in an open-air
theater; shows range from musical revues to traditional dances. A separate,
early show is performed for the resort's youngest visitors. Couples may
also attend shows at the adjacent Iberostar properties.
Dining
The all-inclusive package
offers alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks throughout the day as well as
dining at the resort's five a la carte restaurants including a steakhouse
and fondue restaurant, Italian eatery, Cajun restaurant, and fine dining
restaurant, as well as a buffet. Guests may also make reservations for
any of the 11 restaurants within the complex. Twenty-four hour room service
is also available from a limited menu.
Service
Service at the hotel is friendly
and efficient. A concierge located in each room block helps attend to
everything from lost and found to dinner reservations; a lobby desk can
assist with other arrangements as well as tours. A car rental desk is
also available for clients who would like to explore on their own. Other
services include currency exchange, baby sitting, and a shopping shuttle
into Playa del Carmen.
Weddings
A wedding package is offered
for eight person; vow renewal packages are also available. Weddings may
be held in the pyramid near the wave pool as well as other locations on
property including a wedding gazebo.
