Caribbean Getaways:
Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Ready to trade in snow and ice for a few days of sun and sand? The Caribbean’s a quick and easy answer to your warm weather dreams. Romantic resorts in the islands offer easy escapes, many with all-inclusive packages so the two of you can leave your cares—and your coats—at home.

How Warm Will It Be?

Look for temperatures between the low and high 80s, depending on just where in the Caribbean you choose. The warmest temperatures are found furthest south on islands like Aruba, Curaçao, Trinidad, and Tobago.

Regardless of your destination, you’ll still find balmy conditions throughout the islands, though, perfect for shorts, t-shirts, and plenty of swimming and sunworshipping. At night, you might pack a thin shawl to go over sundresses, just in case.

Don’t forget that the Bahamas and Bermuda don’t fall into the Caribbean. Temperatures in the Bahamas can be cooler than those in the Caribbean; temperatures in Bermuda will be perfect for golfing but usually too cool for ocean swimming during the winter.

If you’ve just got a long weekend to enjoy the islands, book a getaway that gives you maximum beach time. You’ll find many direct flights from gateways around the US and Canada to:

Another option is to hop a Caribbean cruise; you'll find cruises ranging from three nights to one week and longer departing from southern cruise ports as well as from San Juan, Puerto Rico.
