The
Wedding Planner Considering a tropical destination wedding? We asked Lorraine Phillip, Sales Manager at the romantic Saint Kitts Marriott Resort & The Royal Beach Casino, about the wedding venues at this romantic property. Lorraine, like other planners interviewed in this monthly column, has passed the Marriott International Wedding Certification Program. We also interviewed Lorraine about tips for making a wedding extra special when the wedding party is just the two of you. What aspects of your property are most attractive to brides? The Gazebo is absolutely breathtaking set in a tranquil tropical garden enhanced with a fountain will make a picture perfect wedding this is truly an ideal location for an out door wedding ceremony and reception. The "intimate" Westbury Isles is a spectacular ocean and mountain views nestled with manicured lawns and lush tropical gardens surrounded by palm trees. "The Royal Beach" has been the trend for wedding location with a back drop of the sea, sand and mountain this picture perfect moment is every brides dream to marry on a Tropical Island. The fact that the brides have the best of both worlds (that is lush green gardens, a wedding directly on the beach or perhaps a wedding on the lawn surrounded by coconut trees) makes us by far the best choice for the wedding couple. What are the most popular wedding venues at the property, both for large and small weddings?
What local elements can a bride add to her wedding to give it a regional atmosphere? There should be no
wedding on the Island without the pulsating rhythm of a steel
band. A bride can add this enhancement as well as choose our "local"
traditional wedding cake simply known as "Fruit Cake."
They can also include a cultural presentation at their rehearsal
dinner or at their cocktail reception. This will truly be an experience
for their guests. For
brides planning a weekend wedding, what nearby attractions or
on property activities are of special interest for their guests?
For the more energized
excursions, a catamaran cruise of fun in the sun, snorkeling and
beach barbecue will be their ultimate sailing experience on a
sleek 78ft with spacious deck with ample shades. With these tours
in mind, there are plenty more activities that can be arranged
here at the hotel including Golf, Ocean kayaking, Horse back riding
both beach and rainforest and Volcano Tour.
