  Getting Married in Manzanillo

What do you need to make your vacation in Manzanillo a honeymoon? Not a lot. Most of the larger resorts can assist with all your wedding preparations with a few emails or calls prior to your trip. Here's what you'll need in terms of paperwork:

• Certified copies of Birth Certificate or valid passport.

• Blood tests. These are done in Mexico. Most resorts can have a doctor come to the resort to administer the blood test. We talked with the wedding planner at Grand Bay; she can make special arrangements for you to bring your blood tests with you from your home doctor.

• STD tests including HIV

• A copy of your tourist permit (you'll receive it upon arrival in Mexico.)

• Four witnesses (and hotels can provide those if the two of you are traveling alone)

• If one or both have been married before, you will need to present a copy of the divorce certificate; if one of you is a widow or widower, a death certificate of the previous spouse is necessary.

• Also, know that marriage ceremonies are performed in Spanish. Your wedding coordinator will be on hand to translate your vows.
