Beverly Hills Hot Spots Offer Oscar-Inspired Drinks to Toast Best Motion Picture Nominees

LOS ANGELES//PRNewswire/ -- This Oscar season, the Beverly Hills Conference and Visitors Bureau has teamed up with local restaurants and bars to create original, cinematic-inspired cocktails. Beverly Hills hot spots, including the Polo Lounge, Nic's Restaurant and Martini Lounge, Boe, Blue on Blue and Bar 360 each have concocted their own winning libation honoring a film nominated for Best Picture by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

As Oscar fever sets, luminaries and locals alike are invited to enjoy creative concoctions such as:

  • "The Seabiscuit," inspired by the movie Seabiscuit offered at The Polo Lounge in the Beverly Hills Hotel
  • "The Mystic River Cocktail," inspired by the movie Mystic River offered at Boe in the Crescent Hotel
  • "The Thunder Down Under," inspired by Lord of the Rings: The Return of The King at Nic's Martini Bar and Lounge
  • "The Script," inspired by Lost in Translation at Bar 360 in the Luxe Hotel Rodeo Drive (offered with a special Luxe Hotel Rodeo Drive script for acting out with family and friends).
  • "Sail Away," inspired by the movie Master and Commander: The Far Side of The World at Blue on Blue in the Avalon Hotel

"Beverly Hills is always the center of Oscar festivities since it's the official home of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and our hotels are the home away from home for many celebrities during Oscar season, " said Kathryn Smits, director, Beverly Hills Conference and Visitors Bureau.

"We are thrilled to continue the annual tradition of our Oscar Drinks promotion that we started last year. Locals and visitors alike have enjoyed visiting different restaurants and bars to taste test their special drinks and debate about their favorite films."

For movie fans who want to mix an Oscar-inspired drink for friends and family at home, the Avalon Hotel's Blue on Blue and the Crescent Hotel's Boe share the following special creations:
