Marry on Valentine's Day at the Gretna Green Blacksmith Shop in Gretna, Louisiana!

A "marrying judge" will be on hand to legalize the wedding vows.
The blacksmith then seals the couple's promise on the anvil in the centuries old tradition of Gretna Green, Scotland, Gretna's namesake. Gretna Green, Scotland is world famous for its Runaway Marriages; Gretna, Louisiana now is well known with many Southerners for their weddings.

Special Certificates and Proclamations will be issued celebrating the Valentine Day Weddings in the romantic, alluring, and unique setting of the Gretna Green Blacksmith Shop as memories that will last forever.

Requirements for a Gretna Marriage License:

• Copies of both birth certificates
• Both parties Social Security Numbers
• If previously married, a final divorce decree
• $29.40 for a marriage license
• 72 hour waiting period between issue of license and ceremony (may be waived)
• Either the bride or groom must appear in person
