Celebrity Getaway: Terrace Beach Resort and Cabins

Where do celebrities go to get away from it all? Often to resorts they own themselves. Actor Jason Priestley of Beverly Hills 90210 fame owns a romantic resort called Terrace Beach Resort and Cabins along with his father, Lorne, his stepmother, Norma, and his stepsister, Karin.

Born and raised on the West Coast of British Columbia, Canada, much of Jason Priestley's youth was spent along this coastline, exploring the many inlets on sailing trips with his father. When an opportunity came up a few years ago to get involved as an owner in the Ucluelet, B.C development now known as Terrace Beach Resort, the actor eagerly became an owner, based on a lifelong love of the coast and the beautiful beaches.

Today Jason often visits Ucluelet and Long Beach (part of the Pacific Rim National Park). In October 2003, Priestly was in the region shooting a movie; in November 2003 he took time off from another film shoot on the coast to enjoy the region. Jason particularly likes the fishing, storm-watching and easy hiking trails around Terrace Beach.

What types of visitors, especially couples, does Terrace Beach attract?

How would you describe Terrace Beach?

Secluded beach-front cabins looking out to Terrace Beach with sunsets over the Pacific that rival Hawaii. Cabins have cozy electric fireplaces, large Jacuzzi soaker tubs, private balconies facing the ocean with propane BBQ's for private dining.

What nearby attractions are of special interest to couples?

Nearby attractions include the famous Amphitrite Lighthouse within easy walking distance along a spectacular ocean -view trail, whale-watching, boat tours, kayaking and fishing. Long Beach, the world-famous surfing beach, is a 20-minute drive away. Storm season, during fall and winter months, is breathtaking.

What activities does the resort offer that are of special interest to couples?

As above, plus West Coast dining to five-star restaurants nearby, and quaint local art boutiques. Original West Coast Native art abounds.
