BIOGRAPHY

The seeds of tenor Andrea Bocelli's romantic nature were sown in the pastoral farming community of Lajatico, Italy, where the grapes harvested for the family wine--Chianti Bocelli--still ripen under the warmth of the Tuscan sun. An ambitious soul, Andrea refused to allow the loss of his sight at the age of twelve deter him from tasting all that life has to offer, and as a teenager he enrolled in The University of Pisa, where he obtained a law degree and worked for a time as a court-appointed lawyer. His success in this field could not quench his desire for music, however, and he pursued this passion with an intensity which quickly led him from performances in smoke-filled lounges to sold-out arenas.
