Arawak Beach Inn Urges Guests to Trade in a Tuxedo for a Speedo and Opt for a Casual, Intimate Island Wedding

Anguilla, BWI -- Lose the tie and the high heel shoes.  For those who prefer to say "I do" with sand between their toes while sporting a Speedo instead of a tuxedo the Arawak Beach Inn is the place to do just that.  The cozy inn on the posh island of Anguilla offers the ultimate in casual, intimate island weddings.

Sand Between Your Toes starts with just the basics: a beautifully decorated location of the couple's choice, a justice of the peace, a bridal bouquet and groom's boutonniere, and two official witnesses should the bride and groom decide to wed sans friends and family (the Arawak's innkeeper and cook are willing volunteers!).

A wedding cake and bottle of champagne are also included to celebrate following the ceremony.  To capture the joyous occasion a photographer will snap 36 color shots and hand the film off to the newlyweds as soon as the last joyous moment is snapped.  The Arawak can arrange to have the ceremony at a bevy of island perfect locations including the private Arawak Cove.

For those who want a little more for their island wedding, Maria, the Arawak's innkeeper and hopeless romantic, can grant almost any newlywed wish.  From a candlelight lobster dinner for two to a reggae reception for family and friends capped off with a midnight dip for the wedding party in the Arawak's pool (pricing varies based on requests).

Weddings at the Arawak can be a very intimate affair with just the Mr. & Mrs., or couples can take over the inn for over 30 of their closest friends and family.  To start the wedding planning call 264-497-4888 or visit www.arawakbeach.com.  For reservations call 1-877-4-ARAWAK or e-mail relax@arawakbeach.com.

Arawak Beach Inn features a pool, the Arawak Beach Inn Café, a bar, and oceanfront accommodations boasting a balcony or deck with spectacular views, a king- or queen-size bed, a refrigerator, and a private bath.  Most Oceanfront Deluxe rooms also include cable TV and four-poster beds.  But the best part may be Maria Hawkins, Arawak's exuberant innkeeper extraordinaire who offers chauffeured rides around the island in the inn's pick-up truck and invites guest into the kitchen to whip up their favorite meal.

*Couples must reside in Anguilla for up to three days prior to the ceremony. In addition, couples must obtain a license application from the Judicial Department before the ceremony.  The license fee is $40 if one of the partners has resided in Anguilla for 15 days, otherwise it is $248
