Weddings at Heartland Little River Wedding
Chapel
Townsend, Tennessee
Like
the wedding bands exchanged by the bride and groom, the circular wreath
which hangs above the entrance of the Heartland Little River Wedding Chapel
in Townsend, Tennessee is a symbol of love's eternal bond.
The Chapel: Sunlight
streams through the maple trees that stand guard outside the petite venue,
its mahogany doors inviting couples inside, where the bride walks down
a forest green carpet that pays homage to the woodland surroundings. The
stained glass windows which line the cedar interior provide a reverential
touch as guests seated at rows of wooden pews bear witness as the bride
and groom are united in matrimony amid the glow of candlelight.
Wedding Packages: The
chapel offers a virtual cornucopia of ceremonial options to choose from,
starting with the cost-conscious "I Do," a weekday wedding conducted
either in the chapel, at the gazebo or the River Room. This package, which
can also be booked for Saturdays for an addition fee, offers both a commemorative
wedding certificate and a "Just Married" bumper sticker, so
newlyweds can proudly display their new marital status as they drive through
the Smoky Mountains.
During a "Cherished Memories" ceremony,
the venue's most elaborate expression of devotion, candlelight illuminates
the interior of the small cedar chapel as an ordained minister pronounces
that two souls have joined as one.
As in the beginning of the service, traditional
music accompanies the bride during her walk up the aisle, this time on
the arm of her new husband, who is dressed in formal wear provided by
the chapel.
The service, which includes a unity candle
ceremony, is captured for posterity in a video presentation, of which
the couple receives one copy for themselves and two for family members.
A series of portraits, including 24 wallet size, four 8X10 black and white
photos, and the couple's choice of either 30 8X10's or 48 5X7's are displayed
in a complimentary wedding album.
At a banquet hall reception, up to 60 guests
guests can sample slices of a three-tier wedding cake and an assortment
of finger foods served on china as the newlyweds drink to their happiness
from two engraved champagne toasting flutes. At the conclusion of the
two hour post-nuptial festivities, the bride exchanges her fresh or silk
wedding bouquet for a silk toss bouquet, which she joyfully throws to
her bridesmaids, (who carry fresh or silk bouquets during the ceremony),
as a white, horse-drawn carriage whisks the lovebirds away to their "happily
ever after".
When it is time for the newlyweds to return
to daily life, a "Just Married" bumper sticker announces the
couple's happy news to passersby on the drive home, where memories of
their nuptials will live on in a 16 X 20 print of an artist's rendition
of the Heartland Little River Wedding Chapel.
Honeymoon Accommodation:
The intoxicating perfume of rose petals resting atop the bed greet
the newlyweds as they enter Sarah's Meadow Cabin, a romantic retreat complete
with a wood-burning fireplace, an outdoor hot tub and a screened-in front
porch offering a view of eight acres of secluded woodland.
