When in: Maui

* Haleakala Crater--Mark Twain called this dormant volcano (the world's largest) the "sublimest spectacle"--judge for yourselves. It's worth an early morning jolt out of bed to be here for a sunrise the two of you will always remember.

* Honolua Bay--Watch the surfers hang ten at this must-do.

* Hana--This remote region of the island is reached by a curvy, curvy road that transports the two of you to a quiet paradise. Don't miss the Seven Pools.

* Polynesian luau--Set aside at least one meal for a traditional Polynesia luau, complete with the fruity drinks. Sure it's touristy, but hey, what's wrong with being a tourist in such a beautiful place?
