Isla
Mujeres Itinerary
We recently returned
for a short trip to Isla Mujeres, just off the coast of Cancun.
We'd visited this tiny island several years ago and we were amazed
to see how much it had changed--and how much it stayed the same.
New hotels, new attractions, and a larger number of daytrippers
from Cancun had added a little buzz to this island, but it still
maintains the laid-back atmosphere which made us first fall in
love with it.
Here's a look at our
itinerary during our Isla Mujeres stay. (Keep in mind, though,
that we combine business with pleasure so your itinerary might
involve a lot more R&R.)
Thursday
Noon: Arrived in
Cancun where we took a transfer to the
private ferry for Avalon Reef Club.
Afternoon: Time
for a little resort exploration. We grabbed a quick lunch in
the open-air Kelly's Grill then hit the beach for some sunning
and snorkeling.
8pm: Cocktails in
the Lobby Bar, followed by a dinner under the stars at the North
Beach Terrace
Friday
9am Breakfast on
the North Beach Terrace
10:30am An island
tour of Isla Mujeres on a golf cart. Our route took us to Playa
Lancheros and Garrafon National Park (our favorite) for some
snorkeling, zip lining, and lunch.
8pm Dinner back
at Avalon Reef Club in the Porterhouse
Grill, the fine dining steak and seafood restaurant.
Saturday
Breakfast at the
North Beach Terrace
9:30am We checked
out the property, including the resort's wedding venues.
11am We took the
private ferry to Cancun to visit BlueWater Adventures, Avalon
Baccara, and Avalon Grand Cancun.
2pm Lunch at Baccara
3pm Shopping in
Cancun
4pm Catamaran cruise
