Just the FAQs:

Renaissance Weddings

Hear Ye, Hear Ye...
Your Renaissance Wedding

How can I let guests know that I'd like them in costume?

You may want to invite guests to come to the ceremony in period costume. Guests can arrive with their own costumes or see if your festivals has rentals available.

When do I announce the wedding?

Announce your upcoming wedding with a letter well in advance of the event to allow guests to mark the date on their calendars and to being thinking about possible costumes. If the wedding will involve travel on the part of many guests, you'll want to allow extra trime (sometimes as much as one year before your wedding date) so guests can plan to attend.

How can I add a Renaissance feel to the invitations?

Consider making your "save the date" letter as well as your invitations in period style! Parchment paper, special fonts and more make the invitation your guests’ first glimpse of the Renaissance style they’ll enjoy at the festival. Invitations don’t have to be a pricey undertaking; you can even make letters and invitations on your computer, selecting period fonts.

I want to get married at a Renaissance festival but don't know where at the festival I'd like to marry! What choices will we have?

Ask your Renaissance festival if they have special wedding tours for brides and grooms to have a look at the possible ceremony venues. Some faires have one venue; others, such as the Texas Renaissance Festival, have several from which to choose.

How do I let the festival know how many people will attend the wedding? Does it matter?

Ask the festival’s wedding planner when they’ll need a final guest count. Generally, you'll be getting a group package so the wedding planner will need a head count.
