Above: dining in sidewalk cafes at Old Town Square Prague Romantic Restaurants Dining in Prague runs
the gamut from sidewalk cafes to fine dining featuring everything
from traditional Czech dishes to international fare. It is suggested
that you pay for meals in cash rather than using a credit card
at many establishments. Service is added at some restaurants;
all with include tax. We especially enjoyed
the casual sidewalk cafes surrounding Old Town Square; during
summer evenings theyre busy and one of the citys best
people watching spots. Sometimes a restaurant
with a view means a place with more panorama than punch when it
comes to the cuisine. Not here. Located on the banks of the Vltava
River with a view of the Charles Bridge, this restaurant is no
lightweight in terms of fine dining; it boasts the first chef
in Czech Republic to receive the Michelin Bebendum award three
times. Look for an eclectic menu here ranging from Danish veal
chop to New Zealand lamb chops to traditional Czech potato soup.
Youve got to
figure that any restaurant thats been in business for five
and a half centuries is doing something right. This traditional
beer hall, located in Old Town, has been serving up Czech dishes
like goulash and white bread and bacon dumplings along with local
beer since 1466. This baroque palace, located near the Prague Castle, is a favorite for fine dining. The restaurant shares the second floor of the historic building with a gilded stucco mirror hall, a private dining room, and terrace. The diverse menu includes fried tiger prawns in coconut tempura, squid poached in red wine stuffed with spinach leaves and grilled goose liver foie gras.
