Hurricane Season

With many June brides planning summer honeymoons, the subject of hurricane season is on many minds when it comes time to make travel plans.

When is hurricane season? In the Caribbean, hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30.

However, realize that the likelihood of storms is strongest in September and October.

Some Caribbean islands fall outside the "hurricane zone." The islands of Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao as well as Trinidad and Tobago, all located in the far southern Caribbean, are south of the region where hurricanes are generally found. They're favorite destinations with island lovers during those peak hurricane months.

Also, you'll find that more and more resorts are now offering hurricane guarantees, offering your money back if your trip is interrupted by a hurricane.
