How can you make the most of your travel dollars--without any extra expenditure on your part?

Sign up for your airline's frequent flyer program. Registration is free and can be done the day you travel (even after you return, in most cases, if you keep your ticket stubs.) You'll receive credit in your account for each mile you fly. Accumulate enough miles and, voila, the two of you are on your way on another trip through an "award ticket" on which all you pay are taxes.

You can also do a little research and find other ways to add to your mileage account. Certain credit cards pay mileage for each purchase; some long distance phone companies pay mileage for each dollar spent.
