Ahh...if all travel could just be like this. You'd board before all other passengers, greeted by a friendly flight attendant who wants to hang up your jacket and offer you a pre-departure drink. You'd soon be given a newspaper, some headphones, some hot nuts, another drink, and, soon, a real meal. More drinks, followed by tempting desserts (even hot fudge sundaes) would follow. Then, filled by food and drink, you'd recline to your heart's content in a seat that's suddenly a private bed, drifting off to sleep until you're gently awakened by a voice saying it's almost time to land. This is first class. The cost? Well, this is usually one of those "if you have to ask, you can't afford it" situations. First class is considerably more than coach class and even business class, especially on overseas flights. However, if you've got frequent flyer miles, consider purchasing an upgrade! Related terms: Business class, Coach class
