Your checked luggage is that luggage which you will "check" or, in other words, not "carry on" the flight. Your checked bags are your larger bags. Don't get carried away: airlines do have limits to the total weight of your checked bags as well as the weight any one piece of luggage may have. Many now charge for your checked luggage and even those that don't have a strict weight limit. Exceed that weight and you'll find yourself paying overage charges. Be sure to tag your checked bag with your name and address; on your departure trip, tag the bags with your name and the hotel where you'll be staying as well. To be extra sure of luggage arrival, put a luggage tag INSIDE the bag as well, just in case the outside label is ripped off. Related terms: Carry-on luggage |
