What's the difference between business class and first class? Sometimes several hundred dollars. Business class is the airline class which falls between first and coach. The seats are roomier, there's more legroom. You won't find the fully reclining seats that make first class so special (and so expensive.) However, you will find far more room than in coach, both in terms of the room between your seat and the seat in front of you and in terms of the number of seats per row. With fewer seats in the class, in-flight service is also usually far speedier in business class than in coach. Is it worth it? That's a question only the two of you can answer. Take into account the number of hours you will be flying and the number of hours you should be sleeping during that flight. For daylight flights of under six or eight hours, there's not that much difference other than basic comfort. For longer or overnight flights, where you'd like to sleep and arrive refreshed, the difference can justify spending more on the more expensive class of seats.
