How to Plan a Romantic Holiday

If "Ho, ho, ho" sounds like a call to "holiday, holiday, holiday," then you are in luck. Whether you are ready to swoosh down powdery slopes or scuba dive in turquoise waters, to photograph African elephants or to tour historic sites, you'll find plenty of vacation destinations to make your holiday getaway a gift that will never be forgotten.

Where should you go? That depends on your budget and your calendar. The holiday season can be an expensive one in warm weather destinations like Mexico and the Caribbean so plan early or shop around to take advantage of last-minute deals.

Las Vegas is always a popular holiday destination. During Christmas, the city bustles with even more lights than usual and plenty of romantic places for elegant dinners for two. The city really comes to life for New Year’s Eve, one of the most popular events of the year when you can expect to see some of the country’s top entertainment names headlining along the Strip. Atlantic City is also tops for New Year’s Eve as is, of course, New York City.

Other cities like New York and San Antonio are well-known for their lights. Again, you’ll want to shop around for the best deal during this peak season.
