Wedding
Music with Dorian Mirth Interview by Grace Sydney In our
interview with the Salt Lake City-based ensemble, the band's
members tell of their memories of "The Lord of The Rings"
Oscar parties, their burgeoning fashion line of Tolkien-inspired
attire, and how you can walk down the aisle in medieval style
accompanied by the sounds of Dorian Mirth
Hiring
a Harpist for Your Wedding Interview by Grace Sydney Nothing provides an ethereal element to a wedding ceremony
quite like the dulcet tones of a harp. Read our interview
with professional harpist Moira Stern, the daughter of author
Marion Zimmer Bradley, for her advice to brides in search
of a harpist.
Mediaeval
Baebes by Grace Sydney Since
the bands' inception in 1996, the mingled voices of The
Mediaeval Baebes have acted as a vessel through which
the poetry of the Middle Ages is reborn.
Loreena
McKennitt by Grace Sydney Loreena McKennitt's musical
journey of discovery originated from a fascination with
her Irish heritage, and over the years her travels around
the globe have opened up new avenues of expression as she
embraced the sounds of diverse cultures, ranging from the
haunting Celtic ballads which represent her family's origins,
to exotic Sufi chants.
Enya by Grace Sydney The sounds of traditional Irish airs flowed
just as freely as the spirits served at Leo's Tavern,
situated in the mainly Gaelic-speaking area of Gweedore
in County Donegal. The pub was run by Leo Brennan, himself
a musician who passed on his love of song to his progeny
of nine, which included Eithne Ni Bharaonain, better known
as Enya.
