Wedding:
Castle Moffett, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada
Interview
by Grace Sydney
Embraced by 200 verdant
acres and the Bras d'Or Lakes, Castle Moffett on Cape Breton Island
is a regal retreat for a castle wedding or honeymoon hideaway.
In our interview with proprietor Linda Moffett, who runs the five-star,
four-diamond inn along with her husband from May through October,
find out how you can have a dream wedding at one of Nova Scotia's
most elegant venues.
What
special touches does Castle Moffett provide for the bride and
groom on their wedding day?
For small intimate
weddings, Castle Moffett provides a complimentary Champagne
Toast to the newlyweds. Of course, there are always mini fresh-flower
arrangements in each of the guests' rooms which overlook the
beautiful Bras d'Or Lake.
What
local elements can a bride add to her wedding at Castle Moffett
to give the ceremony a regional flavor?
Since Castle Moffett
is located at the beginning of the Highlands of Cape Breton,
a lot of couples request a Highland Piper, Harpist, or Fiddler
for their wedding. Others also wear their clan tartans.
What
sites on the property are available for wedding ceremonies?
Castle Moffett offers
couples our Great Hall with a long staircase from the upstairs
for the Bride to descend to her awaiting Groom and a Grand Piano
for the ceremonial music. Other couples choose to be married
outside by our fountained pond.
One
way for the bridal party to relax before the wedding day is with
a trip to Castle Moffett's spa. What should guests expect from
a day of pampering at your spa facilities?
Castle Moffett offers
a very relaxing massage and sauna as well as fitness facilities.
Castle
Moffett also offers cooking lessons from an internationally-renowned
chef. What can guests expect from one of the cooking school's
culinary classes?
Upon completing
a cooking lesson, each person will be able to prepare and beautifully
plate a four-course meal from the school menus, including the
use of fresh flowers and herbs, for their next dinner party.
What
nearby activities or attractions can you recommend to your guests
who would like to take a romantic day trip?
Our number attraction
is the world-famous Cabot Trail with its romantic waterfalls
and 26 walking paths. There are moonlight sailboat rides and
kayaking tours, and much more. And after that romantic day,
enjoy a romantic candle-lit dinner in our Windsor Dining Room.
Is
there anything else you would like to tell our readers about Castle
Moffett?
Castle Moffett is
an elegantly romantic honeymoon destination for couples of all
ages. Our staff is here to pamper you and to try and meet your
every need and our honeymoon couples continue to return on their
anniversaries to our 5-Star, 4-Diamond Inn.
