Recently Little Rock, Arkansas couple Christine and Hammans Stallings honeymooned at Petit St. Vincent, an intimate collection of 22 villas in the Grenadines. “I felt like we were on our own private island,” recalls Christine, who opted for a villa honeymoon to get away from the vacationing crowds. “We didn’t want a resort feel. Because it was our honeymoon, we wanted to spend time with each other without seeing other people.” Petit St. Vincent’s system of flags, with a red “do not disturb” flag and a yellow flag to indicate that guests would like something, helped the couple achieve their dream.

Couples in each of the five villas are assigned a houseman to bring meals, arrange for activities, or handle some of the housekeeping duties of the villa such as drawing the shutters, lighting deckside luminarias at sunset, or turning up the heat in the private plunge pool. Guests communicate with staff by two-way radio so privacy is ensured.
